Disney is a Trip. Not a Vacation.
Straight talk, friend to friend: the number one cause of Disney misery is not the heat, the crowds, or the prices.
It's showing up without a plan, because you think you're taking a vacation.
We've watched too many smart, capable adults — people who run departments, people who keep tiny humans alive — walk into Magic Kingdom thinking it's still 1996 and they can have a fun, relaxing day with zero preparation.
Getting to a good plan starts with getting your head right, and getting your head right means letting go of the vacation you imagined. The Disney you remember from childhood doesn't exist anymore. (And let's be honest — our parents were probably doing a lot of work behind the scenes even back when Disney was way easier.)
So here's the deal: accept that this is a trip, not a vacation — and then let help!
Here's how to use us:
Start here on the website. This is the deep stuff — the guides, the strategies, the honest "is it worth it?" breakdowns. Work through it before you book anything, ideally a few months out (or a year out to get the best deals). Think of it as the friend who sits you down with a glass of wine and walks you through the whole thing.
Follow us on Instagram and TikTok. That's where the quick hits live — real-time tips, humor, snack intel, and the stuff that doesn't need a thousand words. It's also where you can ask us questions directly, because the whole point is that we're your Disney friends now.
Plan ahead, then let go. The planning happens at home, on the couch, weeks before your trip. That's the secret: the more you decide in advance, the less you have to think about in the park. You do the work now so that future you — the one in the sunscreen and the comfortable shoes — gets to (mostly) just enjoy it.
A trip becomes a vacation when somebody plans it. Let's make that somebody you. (With help. From us. That's the whole thing.)
This page is (currently) focused on content related to Walt Disney World in Florida with some Disney Cruise content. Disneyland Paris info coming fall 2026. For Disneyland California, honestly none of us have been since the early 2000s (except Meg’s mom!). Most of these tips probably work for Disneyland but there are better experts out there for that content.
Honest reviews like “I hated this dumb ride and I am so glad it closed”
One more thing — nobody's paying us to say any of this.
We're not a travel agency. We're not selling a course. Disney does not know who we are. These are free tips from real people who have made the mistakes, done the research, and gathered the best of what we've learned in one place — including links to other sites and tools we genuinely use, because this is about getting you good information, not keeping you here.
When we say a splurge is worth it, it's because we paid for it ourselves and would again. When we say something's a skip, it's because we wasted our own money so you don't have to.
(If that ever changes — like if we add affiliate links down the road — we'll tell you plainly. Friends don't let friends wonder who's paying for the recommendation.) Though if you know us in real life, we do accept payment in free drinks.
